Lakshmi Iyer

India

on Diwali eve

I light diyas in my foyer

hoping

the visually challenged feel

the warmth of my prayers

walking

down the beach

the musings

of a crow

in its shivering caw

thinking

of you dad, I miss

that extra sip

you share with me

from your share of coffee

all along the fog

I try finding

my way -

life is but a journey

through thick and thin

barefoot

we go forest bathing ...

her complaints

vanish

into the breath of trees

gazing at the moon

I forget the stars -

a million wishes

waiting for me

this Christmas
